How clean is YOUR house?

I've just discovered this show on the BBC. It's two women who go in and clean houses of people who are total and absolute pigs. I cannot believe that so many people live like this.
They're now at someone's house and just found dog hair in the oven. Yes THE OVEN! There is no piece of floor that is just floor without an article of clothing or garbage on it. But the bath and sink are clean. Odd. Ok well this family consists of a mother, father and 3 boys. The boys walk in and drop their stuff on the floor. HELLO??? Why does this happen? They're free labor...that house should be immaculate! I don't understand how people allow their homes to get like that and raise their children in such filth. I know that some people are mentally ill and hoard but that's not the case with these people. They're just PIGS! Don't get me wrong, I'm no Martha Stewart but my house is CLEAN if somewhat untidy. I'm watching this show and shaking my head in disbelief. Do a lot of people live like this? Watching this show sure convinces me that yes, they do!
I love the two women who run this show. They have lovely accents, they're very cheeky and they give great cleaning tips.
Ok this is giving me the heebie jeebies. I'm gonna go vacuum.

Now THAT'S a hat!

A New Hobby

Today I decided I want to learn how to knit. I was Stumbling blogs and came upon a knitting blog. This woman said she and a friend decided if they learned how to knit and ballroom dance that their lives would be complete. Aside from being cute and funny, this intrigued me. I started looking at different sites about knitting and decided I wanted to learn. My mother used to knit. She made beautiful baby sets, sweaters and hats and booties. If SHE could do it, so can I. So I called my friend Chris who agreed to show me how. Tomorrow I'm gonna take a walk downtown and stop at at knitting shop, pick up some yarn and needles and give it a go. Oh and the yarns! What beautiful colors! A lot of people even make their own, dying it and spinning it too. I dunno bout THAT but I'll start slow. I love the socks and caps. I'll keep you posted and maybe even put up pics.

Cruisin

The last few days I've been cruisin blogs here at Blogspot. I've come to realize that most blogs have a basis and aren't just ramblings like mine. Most are mildly entertaining but seem to be one long run on blog after a while. Most, that I've seen thus far, are 20 somethings, getting drunk, getting laid and bragging about it for strangers to read. They all talk snark fluently, and can be funny, but really have not much to say. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed them but they all seem the same after a while.
I had gone through a phase of, what I refer to as, "mommy blogs" only to find that everyone tries to out-mommy one another. I can get that shit at my kids' school so I don't need to go hunting for that one.
I guess I just want to find something that will entertain me and be a little different than what I'm seeing. I can keep up the hunt...or go pick up a book .

Spring is here!

And I think it's here to stay this time. The last few weeks the weather has been going up and down from 40 to 70 and back again. Now I think we're on an upswing. Hopefully one that will last till fall.
As for the punim...tests came back negative for anything that counts. Doc thinks it's an allergy so I'm back on the prednisone. LOADS of fun. Gives me awful aggeda. I don't need pills for that though..I have kids! They're supposed to be the sole means of my indigestion at this point in my life!

My Punim

About a year ago I noticed that a few of the freckles on my face decided to band together and create a blotch. I didn't think much of it till it started to become raised. I've been going to a dermatologist who has given me various things for it...first a small biopsy, then creams, prescriptions and then last week a larger biopsy that required 2 stitches in my face. It's odd looking...like a spider smooshed on my face. I named it Charlotte, like Charlotte's Web? Groan I know. But Pat has taken to talking to it as in "Good morning Mom. Good morning Charlotte" He cracks me up. I told him to say goodbye to Charlotte because today I get the stitches out and find out the results of the biopsy. Lil nervous needless to say. We'll see what happens. What will be will be.

If Only It Were True

I was sitting in church. We were singing Silent Night. It was lovely. After the song ended, I felt a hand on my shoulder than a kiss on my head. Then I heard my dad say "God bless you, Sus." Then I woke up. Crying.
