Gadget Girl

That's what everyone in my family calls me. I love gadgets! Something I think I got from my mother. She loved kitchen gadgets. We had a hot dog cooker, a hamburger cooker, a grilled cheese sandwich cooker, a hot air popcorn maker and those are just the things I can think of off the top of my head. I'm an electronics gadget girl. I LOVE any gadgets. Well almost any. I had no desire for an ipod. I dunno why but they never appealed to me.
Ok off the tangent. I have a crush. My crush is new and sleek, smart and slim. I had read about it a bit online but last week I fell and I fell hard. I had to have it. There was a long list but I couldn't wait. I went to my favorite "gotta have it now" site, Craigslist. I went to the New York, NY section and typed it in...kindle. Lo and behold there were a few for sale. One was only $470 and the guy lived in Queens. We gave him a call and went out that evening to meet him and, hopefully, purchase it. There it was in the trunk of his car. Still shrink wrapped. Commence drooling. We bought it. I couldn't wait to get it home and break that bad boy in.
I got home and plugged it in. Turn it on an the wireless on. Start reading the manual but of course didn't do that for long...had to go shopping! I was amazed that I didn't need wireless and could get right onto the Amazon site. Bought Water For Elephants, The New York Times and a couple of blogs to be delivered as new items appeared. I LOVE this thing! We went upstate and I was able to get a signal there too surprisingly! Ok granted, I had to go into a corner of the house and lay down a certain way but I GOT A SIGNAL!
When we got home I found out that there's a converter that will take pdf files and convert them to Mobi which the kindle can read. I have nothing bad to say about this gadget. It's fun, cool, gives me access to over 100,000 books, another drool, and it gets a signal in the furthest reaches of my world. I would recommend this to anyone who's an avid reader and a gadget girl. Just like me.

i've read about this at amazon and i think it looks amazing. i can think of so many places i would love to take it, instead of lugging around stacks of books like i tend to do. is the screen hard to read? i would think that would be the only drawback. but i can stare at a psp screen or my cell phone for hours on end, so maybe that wouldn't be such a problem. it's just so costly! good job finding one on craigslist, i love craigslist. :)
